During my first placement during my PGCE I worked along with two other PGCE students in Heronsbridge Special Education School in Bridgend. While here we worked as the Artists in Residence. We worked with pupils through from year 4 to pupils up to the age of 19 in their leavers year. During my time here I worked with pupils of a full range of diagnosis’. I learnt ways to interact, challenge and spur excitement with all these learners. I found this an exceptionally valuable experience as it allowed me to develop my understanding of the importance of different approaches to teaching and learning.
